UFC 283: Teixeira vs. Hill is set to take place on the 21st of January 2023 at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event will mark the UFC’s return to Brazil for the first time since UFC Fight Night: Lee vs. Oliveira, which took place back in March 2020.
The Main Card is expected to be headlined by a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship fight for the vacant title between ex-champion Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill. The veteran 43-year old Teixeira enters the bout with a record of 33-8-0, coming off a loss to Jiří Procházka in UFC 275. Hill on the other hand, has won his last three fights, beating Thiago Santos via TKO in August of 2022.
The Co-Main event at UFC 283 will be between current two-time champion Deiveson Figueiredo and former champion/current interim title holder Brandon Moreno. This will be their fourth time meeting each other in the Octagon, after fights at UFC 256, which ended in a majority draw, UFC 263, where Moreno captured the title by submission in the third round and UFC 270 on where Figueiredo regained the title by unanimous decision.
Also on the Main Card on the 21st will be a welterweight battle between Gilbert Burns and Neil Magny, a Women’s flyweight bout, Jéssica Andrade vs. Lauren Murphy and a light heavyweight fight between Paul Craig and Johnny Walker.
