With the NFL scouting combine officially in the books, we can now take a look back at the best performances from the budding college players. So without any further ado, here is our list for the top five prospects to come out of the NFL combine in 2023.

#5 CB Christian Gonzalez (Oregon)

Gonzalez came into the combine as one of the top prospects for the cornerback positions and he sure didn’t disappoint. He measured in at 6-foot-1 and 197 pounds and recorded a 4.38-second 40-yard dash, a 41.5-inch vertical and an 11-foot-1 broad jump. Basically he’s big, fast and has the ability to lockdown receivers.

#4 QB C.J. Stroud (Ohio State)

While CJ Stroud opted to not take part in the athletic portion of the combine, he did put his talents on display in the passing session. He showed off his arm with almost perfect passing, barely missing a single throw. The main conclusion from Stroud’s combine performance was the amazing accuracy and ability to hit receivers at the top of their routes.

#3 WR Quentin Johnston (TCU)

Quentin Johnston stood out from the other wide receivers with his explosiveness and size from the get go. He measured in at 6-foot-3, 208 pounds and jumped a 40.5-inch vertical to go along with a11-foot-2 broad. His catching session was equally impressive, making a couple of acrobatic catches along the sideline which caught the eye of some top scouts.

#2 QB Anthony Richardson (Florida)

Arguably the talk of the combine, Anthony Richardson’s freak athleticism put up some historic numbers in his time at the combine. He ran a ridiculous 4.43-second 40-yard dash to complement a 40.5-inch vertical and a 10-foot-9 broad, all while weighing in at a massive 6-foot-4 and 244 pounds. These numbers are really unheard of at the quarterback position.

The only reason Richardson isn’t at the top spot on the list is a few accuracy concerns in the throwing part of his workout.

#1 QB Bryce Young (Alabama)

This year’s top draft prospect, Bryce Young didn’t participate in any on-field workouts at the combine. Then why is he at the top position? Simply because of the shape he was in. He measured in at 204 pounds and looked like he had put on muscle. At 5’10, he has a similar build to Kyler Murray who ended up going first overall back in 2019.
