Although the team has had a rather young history, Toronto FC has provided its fans with a number of memorable goals. Whether it be moments of individual greatness, amazing team play or brilliance in pressure packed moments, TFC has made its mark on the MLS with some of the best goals in the league history.

So which goals made the cut as the best ever in team history? Let’s find out.

3. Dwayne De Rosario Bicycle Kick

Dwayne De Rosario’s epic bicycle kick at the Stade Saputo in Montreal is etched into fans’ memories as one of the most jaw dropping goals in league history. Toronto FC went into the game needing a heavily lopsided victory to win the Canadian Nutralite Championship for a CONCACAF Champions League berth. De Rosario came to the rescue scoring an amazing bicycle kick goal on his way to netting three goals in total.

It’s both the setting and display of sheer athleticism that makes this goal so special. Toronto FC went on to win its first trophy in league history off the back of De Rosario’s performance.

2. Sebastian Giovinco’s Masterclass

Regarded by most as the greatest TFC player of all-time, it’s no surprise that Sebastian Giovinco makes our list in second place. In 2015, Toronto had not reached the MLS Cup playoffs through its 8 year history until the New York Red Bulls came to town.

After holding onto a very precarious 1-0 lead and down a man, Giovinco took a ball from midfield to the centre of the pitch, deking Brazilian midfielder Felipe while having Sal Zizzo all over him. He fired from a distance to score on Luis Robles, which ended up being the winning goal in the match that clinched TFC their first ever playoff berth.

1. Altidore Seals the Title

TFC was coming off of a heartbreaking loss to the Seattle Sounders in the 2016 MLS Cup, looking for revenge in their 2017 campaign. It set the stage for the ultra-talented Jozy Altidore to provide some magic. After staying out for a week due to an injured ankle, he dashed onto a Giovinco pass to score the championship-winning goal, sealing an astounding year for the team.

The significance of this goal is fairly obvious, as the Reds became the first MLS team to complete a domestic treble, as well as the first Canadian team to win the MLS Cup.
