The Toronto Raptors pulled off an overtime win against the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden on Monday night, 123-121. The team improved to 20-24 on the season, tying them with the Chicago Bulls for the 10th seed in the NBA Eastern Conference. The Raps have now gone 5-5 in their last ten games.

It was a hard fought game from the jump, as both teams kept it close, going into halftime with the score 59-56 in the Knicks favor. After building a small lead in the third quarter, the Knicks got outscored 29-23 in the fourth, as both teams ended up on 110 at the end of regulation.

Ultimately, the Raptors were able to open up a six point lead in overtime which they clung onto, securing the win despite a last second 3 pointer by Jalen Brunson that could have stolen the game.

Fred VanVleet led the way for Toronto, putting up 33 points on 10-23 shooting, which included 5 from deep. VanVleet was also able to dish out 8 assists and pick up 5 boards, rounding out a solid night. This was his best game in weeks and will be a key going forward as Toronto jostles for a playoff position.

Pascal Siakam and Scotty Barnes each chipped in with 20 and 26 points respectively as each of the starters reached double figures. The big concern however came from the lack of bench production which has been a huge issue for the team in recent times. The bench was only able to put up 16 points, going 4-14 from the field.

On the other side of the ball, Toronto-native RJ Barrett scored 32, including the tying basket which sent the game into overtime. Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle also had solid games, topping 20 points.

Up Next for the Raptors

The Raptors will be continuing their road trip with a visit to the Milwaulkee Bucks tomorrow. The back-to-back is going to be a tough one for Toronto, as the Bucks will be at home where they are 17-5 this season.
