2022 has been a standout year for wide receivers in the NFL, as many would argue that position has never been stacked with so much talent before. While last year the favorite for the best WR in the league was relatively straightforward with Cooper Kupp leading the league in receptions, touchdowns and receiving yards, this year we find a much closer race.
This is why we compiled our list of the top candidates to take home the title this year.
Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings)
Although Justin Jefferson doesn’t lead the league in catches, yards or TDs, he has proven his ability to make big catches when it counts. Jefferson has seven games this season with over 100 yards and set a new single-game high of 193 on 10 catches against the Bills this season.
With his incredible blend of safe hands, amazing route running and big-play ability, it’s hard to vote against him as the best wideout going around at the moment.
Tyreek Hill (Miami Dolphins)
Hill is leading the league in receptions, yards and catches of 20 yards or more, making him the biggest deep threat in the NFL. The 7th year pro is 4 games of 150+ yards to go along with 5 receptions for touchdowns.
Hill is an integral part of the explosive Dolphins offense, which is looking good to make a deep playoff run on the back of his efforts. If Hill manages to keep up his lofty numbers, he could even be in consideration for the MVP race come the end of the regular season.
Cooper Kupp (Los Angeles Rams)
Cooper Kupp comes off one of the best years in history for a wide receiver, winning the triple crown in receiving and receiving the Offensive Player of the Year Award. While his numbers have been down this season due to injury, Kupp is still considered a top 5 receiver and garners much attention from opposing secondarys.
Devonte Adams (Las Vegas Raiders)
Even with a record of 5-7, Devonte Adams shines bright as the star of a mediocre Las Vegas Raiders team. Adams currently has the most touchdown catches this season, along with Travis Kelce of the Chiefs at 12. Despite leaving Green Bay and legendary quarterback Aaron Rogers, Adams hasn’t seen much loss in production and is set to put up another 1300+ yard season.
