The NFL playoffs are finally upon us, beginning with a thrilling weekend of Wild Card matchups from the 14th-16th of January, 2023. There will be six games which feature 12 teams, as the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will be sitting this week out with a first round bye.
Below you can find a list and preview for all the upcoming matchups for the weekend, including kickoff times and tv broadcast stations.
Saturday, January 14th
NFC: (7) Seattle Seahawks at (2) San Francisco 49ers
Kickoff Time: 4:30 p.m. (ET)
Broadcast Stations: FOX, FOX Deportes
The 49ers enter the playoffs on a 10 game winning streak and swept the Seahawks this season for the first time since 2011. They will be considered heavy favourites to a Seahawks team that barely eked into the final Wild Card Spot in the NFC.
AFC: (5) Los Angeles Chargers at (4) Jacksonville Jaguars
Kickoff Time: 8:15 p.m. (ET)
Broadcast Stations: NBC, Peacock, Universo
The LA Chargers are in the playoffs for the first time since 2018 and Jacksonville are in the postseason for the first time since 2017. This one is expected to be a tight matchup which could go either way, as both QBs will be brand new to knockout games.
Sunday, January 15th
AFC: (7) Miami Dolphins at (2) Buffalo Bills
Kickoff Time: 1:00 p.m. (ET)
Broadcast Stations: CBS, Paramount+
The Bills come in winning 7 games on the trott and will be expected to beat the Dolphins quite handily. The Dolphins will however take solace in their Week 3 win over the Bills, 21-19, hoping they can replicate the effort.
NFC: (6) New York Giants at (3) Minnesota Vikings
Kickoff Time: 4:30 p.m. (ET)
BroadCast Stations: FOX, FOX Deportes
These two teams just played a nailbiter on Week 16, where the Vikings just edged out the Giants on a last second field goal, 27-24. The Giants haven’t won a playoff game since beating the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI and will be raring for the opportunity.
AFC: (6) Baltimore Ravens at (3) Cincinnati Bengals
Kickoff Time: 8:15 p.m. (ET)
Broadcast Stations: NBC, Peacock, Telemundo
This division rivalry split their two games during the regular season, with the home team prevailing in both instances. Lamar Jackson is expected to be out at QB for the Ravens, as Tyler Huntley should be taking the reins in his first postseason game.
Monday, January 16
NFC: (5) Dallas Cowboys at (4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Kickoff Time: 8:15 p.m. (ET)
Broadcast Stations: ESPN/ABC, ESPN2-Manningcast, ESPN+, ESPN Deportes
The Monday night game will feature the legendary franchise in the Dallas Cowboys, up against the legendary quarterback in Tom Brady. The Cowboys will be sizable favourites but with some Brady magic, you can’t count the Bucs out.
